UK seems to have buckled under Chinese pressure as it barred two of its ministers from meeting the Dalai Lama the spiritual head of the Tibetan people. This action by PM David Cameron has come at a time when the world is dismayed by the series of self-immolation committed by Tibetans protesting against Chinese rule in Tibet.  The British government had imposed a “blanket prohibition” on two ministers meeting the Dalai Lama in London in June forcing them to accuse PM Cameron of buckling to Chinese pressure. The PM’s action mocks at the very edifice of freedom as UK fails to stand up against China.
